It's been getting colder and colder recently. I hope it snows a lot here! Everything would look really nice in the snow... although, I guess I should go get winter clothing before it actually does. Dead. They're all dead: everybody he's ever remembered caring about. Everybody, from the people in his memories to the people here in Memento Eden. Each of them killed in a different way.

(Over there, that's Hibari's body, see? Beaten to death... there aren't many cuts, but there are bruises. Something that looks like a head injury... his body is twisting in all the wrong ways. His bones are shattered to bits.

And that's Tsuna. The person he'd always looked up to, lacerations marring his body. The blood is still warm... his face - his corpse's face - has an expression of fear on it. He looks so pitiful...

Nodoka's body is there, too. From a distance, she looks normal, peaceful. As he nears, he sees the cut traveling down her neck and across, digging into her back. Blood stains the back of her clothing.)

He falls to his knees and drops the dagger in his hand. The weapon shines bright, even through the coatings of blood on it.

... He has not a single injury to speak of, and he can't remember what happened. 'I... I did this,' he thinks, horrified
. 'I did this and I couldn't stop it, I couldn't stop this from happening...'

The wind blows in his ear, carrying a faintly sinster laugh to him. He finds that he feels no anger, no malice... he only feels sadness, and where there is no melancholy, there is just emptiness.

'Useless. I'm so useless. I...

It's my fault, isn't it? I couldn't...'

There are no tears, just regret. As if the sky sensed this irony, the dark clouds overhead broke and the rain began. The blood washed into a river, flowing to god-knows-where.

He feels like he's going to be sick. The blade that he'd used to take so many of his friends' lives taunts him from his side.

To take it, and have some use in the world...

... to leave it, and feel that much less guilty about it...

He picks it up. (He hears that laugh again. "Oh, little ranking prince~ Oh, silly Fuuta-kun~")

I have a job as a librarian aid now. It's fun, and I like the books, except, I think Miss Serra works there and I'm still scarred from the last time I talked to her.

These are never really made very clear, so I’ll outline my general idea of how they work and what they’re capable of. I’ll also go into the rules set upon Fuuta as a ranking prince.

According to the manga, Fuuta’s brain is able to enter a ‘red state’ which cancels gravity and allows correspondence with a supposed ranking planet. The gravity cancellation does not affect him, but it does affect anything on him and everything in a five-foot radius around him that isn’t firmly set on the ground.

I would assume that his abilities allow him to learn a person’s name, seeing as in his introduction chapter, he very clearly says that he only recognizes one of the people chasing him, but later, using his ranking powers, is able to call up the names of all three.

He can’t remember his rankings for more than five minutes. However, he will be able to remember writing down the rankings, which is why he has to write them down quickly.

Rain impedes his ability to rate things correctly, as it messes up the communication between him and the ranking planet.

It’s also implied that he can “switch off” his powers if he needs to, suggesting that he can be made to involuntarily use his ranking abilities. I don’t really plan on ever having that happen (well at least I hope not), but I might have him accidentally trigger them sometime.

His abilities only work when he is looking at the thing or person he is supposed to be ranking. This works both ways. For example, he can look at Hibari and rank him as the most powerful person in Namimori, but will not be able to put anybody else on that list. On the other hand, he could be looking at the school and would be able to generate a list, but not anything else about the people on that list.

He is an unpartisan informant who is not allowed to choose favorites. However, that doesn’t mean that he can’t deny specific attempts or offers to gain lists from him, nor that he must accept the same payment from every person. If he doesn’t believe that a group will use his lists “well” or “to do good” (seeing as it’s mafia, “to do good” is a rather skewed assessment anyways), he doesn’t have to give them to them. He can also choose to give away lists for the same reason that he can deny people lists (the whole “well” or “to do good” thing, again, a skewed assessment). If he is being threatened for his lists, then he should not give them up unless his life is being threatened, or others’ lives as well.

Important!

If Fuuta is in ranking mode during a post, it will be marked by italics. A normal post would follow,

I will mark it off in ooc notes that the area around Fuuta will be in zero-gravity, so anybody and anything near him will be levitated.

Fuuta will pretty much rank anything about you. He could jump from fighting ability to favorite flavor of soda to the person you like most just like that. So, it would help if you could comment on this post a) giving permission for your character to get ranked. If you comment on a ranking post, I will assume that you are within sight of Fuuta and that you are giving permission. And also, b) giving things you would be comfortable having ranked as well as a guestimate of where they would be ranked.

Example comment:
I give permission for my characters Johan and Lyserg to be ranked. I don't care what you rank about them, except who Johan likes the most.

Johan would probably be ranked second in skill with Duel Monsters and Lyserg would probably be ranked first in dowsing skills. [ More interesting stuff here; pretty much just list some notable abilities and stuff. ]

Also, crack rankings are totally cool. :D

And just for clarity purposes, he will rank your character # out of 842 (the '842' number will waver around fron rank to rank, but it's my guestimate of the population of Memento.)
